Purpose
The purpose of this Section is to promote scholarship, programming, and other activities among members on the study of law and technology, broadly defined. Section members engage with a wide range of subjects at the intersection of law, technology, and society, including data and internet governance, platform regulation, digital markets, cybersecurity, biotechnology, information privacy, artificial intelligence, and other emerging and disruptive technologies. Members critically examine how technological change reshapes public and private law institutions and architectures, and debate the policy questions it raises. They also engage with the legal uncertainties produced by new technologies, including the benefits and drawbacks of various regulatory responses to such uncertainties. The Section further makes recommendations to the Association on matters related to these themes and subjects
