Duke Law professors Darrell A. H. Miller and Joseph Blocher serve as first co-chairs of AALS Section on Firearms Law

DUKE LAW — Two Duke Law School faculty members are leading a new Association of American Law Schools (AALS) section devoted to the study of the Second Amendment and firearms law. Melvin G. Shimm Professor of Law Darrell A. H. Miller and Lanty L. Smith Professor of Law Joseph Blocher, who co-direct the Duke Center for Firearms Law, are serving as the first co-chairs of the AALS Section on Firearms Law. Jacob D. Charles JD/MA, who was the center’s executive director until joining the faculty of Pepperdine Caruso School of Law in July, and remains an affiliated scholar with the Center, is the section’s chair-elect.

Duke Law professor Anne Gordon elected to AALS Section on Clinical Legal Education executive committee

DUKE LAW — Clinical Professor Anne Gordon was elected to the Executive Committee for the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Section on Clinical Legal Education at the organization’s annual meeting earlier this month. One of three members, Gordon will serve a three-year term.

Registration is now open!

AALS invites you to register now for the 2022 Annual Meeting! This Meeting will be held virtually rather than in person and is scheduled for Wednesday, January 5 through Sunday, January 9, 2022.

Here’s What You Should Know:

Sessions will take place each day between 11:00 am – 7:00 pm Eastern Time.
AALS offered a school registration rate that allows all full-time faculty and administrators from participating schools to attend meetings. Check here to confirm whether your school is participating in the school rate. If so, your registration is already paid.
Register for sessions in advance to secure your spot and create your own schedule.
The Virtual Annual Meeting is being held on the OpenWater conference platform using Zoom meeting technology.
Section Networking Sessions will be available every day of the meeting to socialize and connect with other attendees.
Sessions will be recorded and available for playback after the Annual Meeting.
